About the Class

Join us for August’s First Friday Community Dance Class and get moving with a bold and energizing Jazz Funk session led by the talented Kylah! This style blends the sharpness of jazz with the swagger of hip-hop — perfect for dancers looking to build confidence, explore musicality, and have fun.

About Kylah Heckard

Kylah is a Louisiana-based dancer, choreographer, and instructor with 19 years of training and 4 years of teaching experience. She danced competitively for 8 years at DBK Dance & Performing Arts and has earned numerous titles including Miss Showbiz, Performance Artist, and Elite Runner Up at Streetz Dance Competition. She’s trained with top choreographers at West Coast Dance Explosion, Millennium Dance Complex, and Playground LA. Currently pursuing her BFA in Dance at UL Lafayette (Spring 2025 graduate), Kylah teaches at The Dance Place in Carencro and continues to grow her own teaching and choreography business.
